Ready to stop letting your inner critic run the show?

Meet your Denver self-esteem therapist.

Holly Boulanger, LPC | Self-Esteem Therapist in Denver

Hey, I'm Holly.

I’m your classic eldest daughter and recovering overthinker. I say recovering because I’ve learned how to manage it (most days). My husband and I can even joke about it—see my favorite coffee mug below. I’m proudly born and raised in Colorado, love talking about shows I’ve seen at Red Rocks (Sara Bareilles was a bucket list win), and I may have the only dog in the state who refuses to hang out at breweries.

If you’re here, I’m guessing your inner critic has been working overtime—writing, editing, and re-publishing a burn book about you. She’s relentless, flipping through all the “proof” she thinks she has, keeping you stuck in a loop of doubt and second-guessing.

Don’t you wish you had the tools to change that?

I help overwhelmed adults just like you—people who have what it takes to get unstuck, but need a guide to help them find the way forward.

Being stuck isn’t your fault. Many of today’s approaches to anxiety and self-worth only skim the surface, so the relief doesn’t last. That’s because your struggles were never superficial in the first place.

Deep-seated problems require depth-oriented solutions.

Together we’ll find what's stuck that's causing the yuck - because it's going to take more than the perfect skin care routine and overpriced supplements to get the relief you’re looking for.

My Approach as a Self-Esteem Therapist in Denver

I help my clients find compassion for and trust in themselves by equipping them with the tools to understand how their past experiences are shaping the way they see themselves today.

Here’s what our work might look like:

01. Map out what’s going on now - identify what is keeping you stuck.

02. Build acceptance and compassion for this struggling version of you.

03. Dig for the why - you've looked before, but never with me.

04. Identify, untangle, and reprocess the problematic messages you've internalized.

05. You finally understand - the kind of understanding the brings deep and lasting change.

You’ll finally be able to see yourself with clarity instead of criticism, and feel a freedom you might not have thought possible.

Why I Get It

You might be thinking, “Sure, you’re a therapist… but do you think I’m just overreacting?”

The truth is, you’ve been gaslighting yourself about your own feelings for years. You minimize your pain one minute and beat yourself up for being “too much” the next. You’re on what I like to call the hamster wheel from hell—persistently anxious and overwhelmed, then criticizing yourself for it, which just feeds the inner critic even more.

For some clients, this cycle is tangled up in past religious trauma or rigid belief systems, making it even harder to feel safe in your own mind.

I don’t think you’re pathetic or overreacting—because I’ve been there. And more importantly, I’ve helped many clients break free from that same exhausting cycle.

When we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist. You’ll get someone who truly understands what you’re going through and knows the steps to help you step off that hamster wheel for good.
